Compatti Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about connecting, carrying, reheating and caring for your Compatti collection.

01 About Compatti

Designed to Click, Connect and Carry

What is Compatti?

Compatti is a patented modular food storage system designed to keep foods separate while allowing multiple containers to connect and carry as one. Use each piece individually or create the combination that works for your meal, snack, gathering or everyday routine.

Keep food separate. Carry it together.

How does the Compatti connection system work?

Align two compatible containers at their intended connection points and press them together until the connection feels secure.

To disconnect, support the bases of both containers, begin at one corner and gently ease the connection apart. Do not twist the containers or pull them apart by their lids.

Can I use the containers separately?

Yes. Every Compatti container can be used independently, so you can use one piece or connect several together. Your system can grow and change with your needs.

What is included in the Core Collection?

The four-piece Core Collection includes:

  • One Bar
  • One Cube
  • Two Dash containers

Together, the four containers form a compact rectangular configuration and provide approximately 6¾ cups total capacity.

Do all Compatti pieces connect?

Compatti pieces are designed to connect in a variety of compatible combinations using their intended connection points. You can also mix Porcelain Cream and Mocha pieces to create a collection that feels like your own.

How durable is Compatti?

Compatti is designed for everyday food storage, serving and reheating. As with any food storage product, extreme heat, sharp utensils, improper handling or forcing the connection points may cause damage.

Following the Compatti Care Guide will help your collection look and perform its best.

02 Lids, Carrying and Storage

Secure Every Piece

Are Compatti containers airtight or leakproof?

Compatti lids form a secure seal when seated evenly and completely. However, the containers should not be treated as leakproof during transport. Keep containers upright when carrying liquids, dressings or thin sauces, and do not overfill them.

Why is my new Compatti lid difficult to remove?

New Compatti lids may feel especially snug during the first few uses. This is normal, and the lids should become easier to remove with continued use. Begin at the corner-lift tab and gently work the lid free without forcing it.

Can I carry connected containers by one piece or by the lid?

No. Always support the full connected build from underneath, especially when several containers are connected or filled with heavier foods. Never lift a connected build by a lid or a single outer container.

Should I disconnect the containers before washing or reheating?

Yes. Always disconnect the containers before washing, reheating or placing them in the dishwasher. This protects the connection points and allows every surface to be cleaned properly.

03 Microwave and Heat Safety

Brief Reheating Only

Can Compatti go in the microwave?

Compatti bases are intended for brief reheating only, not cooking. Disconnect the container you want to reheat and remove the lid before placing the base in the microwave.

Begin at 50% power and reheat in 30-second intervals, stirring and checking the food between intervals. Microwave wattages vary, so adjust reheating time as needed.

Never microwave a Compatti container while empty.

Why do you recommend reheating at 50% power?

Microwaves vary in wattage, and foods do not always heat evenly. Using reduced power and short intervals helps prevent concentrated hot spots that could overheat the food or damage the container.

Can I melt cheese, butter, chocolate, oil or caramel in Compatti?

No. Do not melt or heat these foods by themselves in Compatti. Foods that are high in fat or sugar can become much hotter than boiling water in a short amount of time, even when the container itself does not feel excessively hot.

Transfer these foods to cookware designed for high-heat preparation.

Can I cook raw food in Compatti?

No. Compatti is designed for storing, organizing, serving and briefly reheating food. It is not cookware and should not be used to cook raw meat or other uncooked foods.

Can Compatti be used in an oven or air fryer?

No. Never place Compatti in a conventional oven, toaster oven, air fryer, on a stovetop, under a broiler, on a grill or near an open flame.

04 Cleaning and Care

Keep Your Collection Looking Its Best

Is Compatti dishwasher safe?

Place disconnected containers and lids separately on the top rack and use a standard cycle. For the longest product life, avoid sanitize cycles and high-heat drying.

Allow all pieces to dry completely before storing or reconnecting them.

Can Compatti stain?

Compatti is designed to resist everyday staining, but no food storage container can be guaranteed completely stain-free. Deeply pigmented or oily foods, especially when heated, may cause temporary or lasting discoloration.

Staining can vary depending on the food, temperature, microwave wattage and length of contact. Discoloration is cosmetic and does not necessarily affect how the container functions.

How can I reduce the chance of staining?

  • Rinse deeply colored or oily foods from the container as soon as practical.
  • Avoid overheating sauces and other highly pigmented foods.
  • Reheat at 50% power in 30-second intervals.
  • Wash with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers and harsh cleaners.

What should I do if a container becomes stained?

Begin with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft sponge. For a stubborn stain, apply a paste of baking soda and water, allow it to sit briefly and then rinse thoroughly.

Some discoloration may remain and is considered normal wear rather than a product defect.

Can I use metal utensils or knives in Compatti?

We recommend using silicone, wood or smooth plastic utensils. Metal utensils, sharp tools and cutting directly inside the container may scratch or permanently mark its surface.

How should I store Compatti?

Compatti was designed to stack. Make sure every piece is clean and completely dry, then stack the containers neatly rather than nesting them.

Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the lids for extended periods.

What if my container becomes warped, cracked or damaged?

Stop using any container that is cracked, significantly warped or otherwise damaged. Contact Compatti Customer Care with your order number and clear photos so the team can review what happened and help with the next steps.

05 Materials and Additional Use

Made for Everyday Food Storage

What is Compatti made from?

Compatti container bases are made from a proprietary BPA-free polypropylene blend selected for durability, dependable performance and a refined feel.

Is Compatti BPA-free and food safe?

Yes. Compatti containers and lids are BPA-free and made from materials suitable for food-contact use. When used according to the Compatti Care Guide, they are designed for food storage, serving and brief reheating.

Can Compatti go in the freezer?

No. Compatti is not designed for freezer use. Freezing temperatures may cause the material to become brittle, which could result in cracking or damage to the container or its connection points.

Can Compatti be refrigerated?

Yes. Compatti can be used to store food in the refrigerator. Make sure the lid is seated evenly and completely before storing.
